Delivery Contribution & Menu Markup Calculator

Compare channel contribution and calculate the price needed to meet your own target.

Separate food revenue, transaction costs, and monthly channel expenses before comparing orders. A price scenario holds order volume constant; it does not predict demand.

Your scenario

All example values are hypothetical. Enter the same basket and cost scope for each channel; prices may differ. Exclude sales tax and tips.

What the result means

Per-order contribution subtracts only the costs entered. Monthly contribution then subtracts the optional channel fixed cost once. Neither result is full restaurant net profit. “Target price” is rounded upward to the cent to meet the target.

Assumptions & methodology

Revenue = food subtotal − owner-funded discount. Platform discounts are assumed fully reimbursed and do not reduce merchant revenue or the modeled fee base. Confirm that your contract uses this treatment.

Channel fee = chosen fee basis × channel rate. Separate payment fee = merchant revenue × payment rate + fixed payment fee, unless payment is included in the channel fee. Separate payment fees use revenue after the owner-funded discount.

Contribution = revenue − food − packaging − incremental labor − channel fee − separate payment fee. Monthly scenario = contribution × paid orders − monthly fixed channel cost. A zero-order month leaves fixed cost and has no per-order allocation.

Target price solves the same linear equation for the entered per-order contribution. Dollar discounts and all unit costs stay fixed. The combined applied percentage fee must be below 100%. A mathematical price is not evidence customers will pay it.

Tax, tips, chargebacks, overhead, refunds, fee caps, tiered pricing, sales-tax fee bases, and costs not entered are excluded. Use the actual agreement or statement; defaults are not current vendor quotes.

A worked example

Hypothetical example: a $20 food subtotal less $6 ingredients, $1 packaging and a 25% channel fee leaves $8 per order when payment is included and no additional labor or discounts are entered. At 100 orders with no monthly channel cost, contribution is $800. These are illustrative inputs, not vendor rates or net profit.
